fixed the infobox and unified code to match other weapon pages. Added a bit to strategy about its potential to hit enemies farther above and below than you would expect. Also made the formatting suck less, this is yet again a self own for me making it suck in the first place |

The Aura is an unlockable weapon in Megabonk that provides constant, close-range area damage. It is one of the most consistent weapons due to its limited upgrade pool, making it a reliable choice for players who prefer a straightforward damage-dealing playstyle.
How to Unlock
To unlock the Aura, the player must survive for 2 consecutive minutes in a single run without taking any damage. The timer is not cumulative.
This is most easily achieved on the first Forest stage where enemies are slower and less numerous. Keeping a safe distance from swarms is key to completing this challenge. After the condition is met, it must be purchased from the Unlocks tab for 1 Silver.
Strategy and Synergies
Aura's primary strength and weakness is its simplicity. With only two possible upgrades (Damage and Size), it has the highest probability of receiving a damage boost on every level-up, but it does not benefit from many common upgrades.
- Consistent Damage: Since the only non-damage upgrade is Size, you are almost guaranteed to be offered a Damage upgrade at every level. This makes its power curve very reliable.
- Size bonuses: This is the most important stat bonus for Aura, as it directly increases its effective range, allowing you to hit more enemies and stay safer.
- Any Attack Speed bonuses: Aura's tick rate increases with attack speed, increasing its DPS.
- Positioning is Key: As a close-range weapon, Aura requires you to be near enemies. Items and Tomes that grant Movement Speed are valuable for staying safe while dealing damage until you have enough Size. Aura can also deal damage much further below (and above) its ring than you would expect, making it good for killing enemies as they climb up walls to reach you.
Best Characters:
- Megachad can block damage and stuns enemies with their Flex ability which allows him to stay safer in close range where Aura can deal its damage.
- Noelle gains 1% Size every time she levels up, allowing Aura's radius to scale much faster and eventually cover entire stages.
Upgrades
The Aura has the most limited upgrade pool in the game, which makes it very consistent.
| Stat | Common | Uncommon | Rare | Epic | Legendary |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Damage | 1.4 | 1.7 | 2 | 2.2 | 2.8 |
