The Frostwalker is an unlockable weapon in Megabonk that excels at crowd control. Instead of dealing high damage, its primary function is to create pulses of ice that freezes enemies, stopping them in their tracks and making them vulnerable to other attacks.

How to Unlock

Unlocking the Frostwalker is a two-step process that heavily depends on luck (RNG).

Step 1: Find the Ice Cube Item: First, you must find the Ice Cube during a run. The Ice Cube is a Legendary rarity item, so encountering it is rare.
Step 2: Freeze 1,000 Enemies: Once you have the Ice Cube, you must use it to freeze a cumulative total of 1,000 enemies. This may take several different runs where you are lucky enough to find the item.

After the condition is met, the Frostwalker must be purchased from the Unlocks tab for 2 Silver.

Strategy and Synergies

Frostwalker is a top-tier utility weapon. It's not meant to be your main source of damage, but rather a tool to set up enemies for your other, more powerful weapons.

The Freeze 'n' Fry Strategy: The core strategy is to use Frostwalker to lock down large groups of enemies while hitting them with other high damage AoE weapons.
Cursed Doll: Freezing enemies gives you more time to wait for this item to kill them. This isn't very useful early on as enemies are slow but for survival at high difficulty or further into the Final Swarm where outrunning an enemy for 4 seconds can be difficult, that extra time for Cursed Doll to do its job can be much more valuable.

Key Synergies:
- High-Damage AoE Weapons: Frostwalker is the perfect partner for weapons like the Axe or Black Hole.
- Any Attack Speed bonuses: Attack Speed increases the frequency of pulses increasing dps and how often enemies get frozen.

Best Characters:
- Noelle is unsurprisingly the best user of this weapon thanks to her natural +1% Size scaling from level ups as well as her damage bonus for each currently frozen enemy.
