Sniper Rifle
The Sniper Rifle is an unlockable weapon in Megabonk that rewards precision and skill. Unlike most other weapons that fire automatically, the Sniper Rifle can be manually aimed, and its high-powered bullets pierce through multiple enemies, making it devastating when positioned correctly.
This weapon is required to unlock the character Bush.
How to Unlock
To unlock the Sniper Rifle, players must take the Precision Tome during a run and upgrade it to Level 10.
The Precision Tome (which increases Critical Hit Chance) is unlocked by default. The easiest way to complete this challenge is to select it early in a run and prioritize its upgrades. After the condition is met, the Sniper Rifle must be purchased from the Unlocks tab for 2 Silver.
Strategy: Manual Aim and Positioning
The Sniper Rifle demands a different playstyle compared to auto-targeting weapons. Success depends on careful positioning and precise aiming.
- Manual Aiming: The rifle fires directly towards your mouse cursor (or the direction your character is facing on controller). This gives you full control over where your shots go, allowing you to target specific high-priority threats.
- Lining Up Shots: The rifle's key strength is its ability to pierce enemies. The main strategy is to maneuver in a way that lines up enemies in a straight line, allowing you to damage an entire column of foes with a single bullet.
- Key Synergies:
- Any Attack Speed bonuses: Attack Speed significantly reduces time between shots allowing you to make use of Sniper Rifle's extremely high single shot damage more often.
- Precision Tome: The unlock requirement is also a great synergy. As a slow-firing, high-damage weapon, every shot needs to count. A high Critical Hit chance from the Precision Tome makes it incredibly powerful.
- Size Upgrades: Increasing the projectile size makes the bullet wider, making it significantly easier to hit multiple enemies with each piercing shot.
Best Characters:
- Bush passive enemy marking allows you to more effectively utilize Sniper Rifle's high single hit damage by manually aiming at marked targets causing the shot to explode damaging nearby enemies. This dramatically improves its ability to clear swarms.

- Note: Crit Chance is not a stat the Sniper Rifle can recieve upgrades for and it must instead be gotten through universal buffs such as items, Charge Shrine bonuses, Tomes, or CL4NK's passive.
