The sooner Anvil is obtained the better but none of the mentioned items is exactly requirement to get a decent run.

Be sure to level Aura weapon high enough before entering final boss area to actually kill the boss as the aura itself is not very efficient against single target enemies.

Gas mask and Moldy cheese is a good synergy for Megachad to survive through out difficult situations.

Be sure to pick every single Skull to increase difficulty and it is also recommended to level up power up drop chance in shrines as it also boosts chest drop chance from the enemies. Once you level up luck high enough, only legendary items will drop.

Use toggler to only have following toggleable legendaries: -Soul harvester -Big Bonk -Joes Dagger -Anvil -Magnet (optional)

Weapon stat priority: Damage > Size > Projectile count

Boss strategy: If you get cheese early enough, use all curse statues to summon more bosses -> each dead boss drops 1 chest -> more good items with high enough luck.

Overtime strategy: Try to stay in the overtime as long as possible, once the black ghosts start knocking you around, that means your build is starting to get weak and you will soon be pushed around the map by them and you won't reach portal to the next stage and die unless you will have Za Warudo which can save you and you can run into the portal.

Tome strategy:

Pick XP and Luck tome about 50/50 but prioritize upgrades with higher rarity. If you struggle to kill the mobs and elite mobs take many hits to kill, focus on weapon upgrades instead of tomes.
